At Orleans Technical Institute you can gain hands-on experience and technical skills to establish the foundation for a successful career in the Building Trades. Students gain the job-ready skills that employers are looking for from our team of industry experienced instructors.
We offer the following full-time and part-time training programs, where you can earn your Trades Diploma in just 6 or 13 months:
Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Applicants must have high school diploma or GED.
Orleans Technical Institute's Building Trade programs prepare students with the fundamentals to enter and succeed in their chosen field. Training programs emphasize hands-on, practical instruction using the latest technologies, equipment and tools of the trade.
Upon completion of a trades training program, Orleans’ on-site employment specialists work with each student one-on-one offering job search assistance and access to unadvertised positions with employer partners throughout the region. Graduates are employable in entry-level positions in their chosen field.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor:
• Employment of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers is expected to grow 34% from 2010 to 2020.
• Employment of general maintenance and repair workers is expected to grow 11% from 2010 to 2020.
• Employment of carpenters is projected to grow 20% from 2010 to 2020.
• Employment of plumbers, pipefitters, and steamfitters is expected to grow 26% from 2010 to 2020.
• Employment of electricians is projected to grow 23% from 2010 to 2020.

Graduates of our Building Trades programs are eligible to receive industry-recognized certification from the NOCTI upon successful completion of certification exams.

Orleans Tech's hands-on, job training programs are approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Orleans proudly welcomes military servicemembers and veterans to use their G.I. Bill educational benefits, such as The Post-9/11 GI Bill or Montgomery GI Bill.
