Orleans Celebrates National Court Reporting & Captioning Week
Students and instructors at Orleans Technical Institute declare “We Are Technology” to kick off National Court Reporting & Captioning Week, a special celebration to recognize the variety of growing opportunities in the court reporting field, including its related application to captioning careers. Orleans Tech welcomed guest speakers who are successfully working as court reporters or captioners to talk about how they use their steno machines and “realtime” computer technologies to provide live television captioning, as well as instant word-to-text transcriptions of college lectures for students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing. Over the past 3 years, Orleans Tech has placed 100% of its graduates into court reporting and captioning jobs.
Anyone who would like to learn more about technology career training in court reporting and captioning may stop by during our weekly Monday open house between 12 noon and 7pm.
