Once you've started the admissions process at Orleans Technical Institute, you may become a member of our “FUTURE COURT REPORTERS CLUB.” This is a special club comprising the men and women who will begin classes in September 2010.

As a member of Orleans Future Court Reporters Club, you will receive exclusive invitations to our FREE Program Informational Sessions, which give you an opportunity to gain invaluable insight into our training program and reporting careers. See below for the 2010 schedule and session descriptions.

Session 1 – Curriculum*

Take a closer look at our courses, semester schedules, classrooms, and the breakdown of lecture and. lab instruction. Learn how the program allows for students to build up speed and accuracy on the steno machine.

Session 2 – Employment & InternshipSaturday, April 17, 2010 at 10 a.m.
Discover how our graduates are heading straight to work as official courtroom, freelance, conference and realtime reporters. Find out why court reporters are in demand from a member of Orleans’ Employer Advisory Committee.

Session 3 – Career Expo & Mock Trial: "Court Reporter in Action"

Sit in the jury of our mock trial and witness how the court reporter—known as the guardian of the record— plays a critical role in legal proceedings and is invaluable to judges, attorneys and litigants.
Session 4 –Technology & Equipment
Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 10 a.m.
Get acquainted with your new best friend: the steno machine. Watch hands-on demonstrations of the equipment and test it out! See how students combine their skills with the latest computer technology to instantly convert shorthand notes into readable English text.

Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 10 a.m.
Sit in on classes and observe how it all works from current, senior-level court reporting students who will show you the ropes!
Session 6 – Family and Friends Day
Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 10 a.m.
Be our guest! Bring your family and friends to tour the school and hear more about your training. Enjoy a meet-and-greet lunch with instructors and staff.
